Description

The Kramer KDS−EN3 is a high-performance H.264 encoder for HDMI signals up to 1080p60. The KDS−EN3 provides unicast or multicast (one to many) streaming to the KDS−DEC3 decoder or computers running VLC software. KDS−EN3 can also record content to a network drive for later access. This item was designed to be used in conjunction with the KDS-DEC3 decoder and using Kramer's KDS-EN3 Manger software you have the ability to manage your entire KDS-EN3 network from a single system. These devices are great for use in Pro AV distribution systems with one or more sources and many displays, such as in schools, universities and public venues. Equally they are an added benefit to settings that require long-distance transmissions of signals using the existing wires and infrastructure in corporate offices and government type applications. 

The primary features of the KDS-EN3 include:

  •  MPEG-4 AVC support using H.264 and AAC codes
  • Downscale streams locally before distribution over the network to lower bandwidth consumption
  • Scaling and cropping features that enable flexible display of source content to the decoder output
  • Open encoding to enable software decoding through VLC software
  • Standard 10/100/1000Mb Ethernet network operation
  • A decoder integrated network swithc that allows for KDS-DEC3 daisy chainging and network extension
  • HDMI/DVI video support and HDMI or analog audio support
  • Unicast or multicast streaming support through RSTP (Real Time Streaming Protocol)
  • Manual and scheduled recording to network storage option on encoders
  • A fall safe video playback or image display when a decoder losses its connection to an encoder
  • RS-232 virtualization from encoder to decoder
